Andreas will talk about five major topics. First and foremost about the importance of having a data strategy, a data and AI platform in order to provide a solid foundation for implementing AI in less time and in a responsible manner in business processes.
Since we are living in exciting times with new developments in the field of AI being published every day, having defined one’s AI Principles is important to guide along the path of ethical development and usage of AI.
Based on this Andreas will talk about how GenAI will help people today and in the future when handling text, code and how we interact with systems when looking for information.
In the field of computer vision GenAI is able to perform tasks very effectively compared to approaches used in the past. GenAI is changing the way we use input from vision-related sensors and how images and videos are being generated.
With multimodal models, different types of media can be processed by the same pre-trained models opening up a whole new universe of use cases and possibilities.
KEYNOTE
Since 30 years the field of Data Science undergoes changes in its definitions, tasks and self-understanding. Where are we standing now? How do Data Scientists see themselves after they left the universities and entered industries? Not a structured but a knowledgeable view on the current situation with insights and outlooks on what Data Science is, might be and can achieve.
In the early 2000s, Axel Springer had to make an important decision: to become digital or die. Decades ago we’d realized that people stopped reading newspapers the way they did it in the past. Therefore, we started to digitize along our core areas of expertise in order to survive. Today we’re Europe’s leading digital publisher and winning the Internet and since 2019 we are also a media and quite new, a technology company. However, being a tech company is not enough anymore. In this talk, I will present why this is the case and how we want to become an AI-first company, talking about Axel Springer’s past, the present and also give a glimpse of its potential future. Moreover, I will also show some of our projects that we’re currently working on.
Deutsche Post DHL Group employs over half a million people around the globe across postal services, international express delivery, forwarding and contract logistics. Not surprisingly, our activities generate a lot of data. We believe that our data is the key to unlocking untapped potential in our company – but how can we leverage our data assets to drive the decision making? How can we build AI products and deploy them in our business processes?
We try to answer these questions, provide real world examples and share our key learnings of leveraging data science in logistics at scale.
